December 1, 2003, (Fairfield) Rockville, CA. At an upcoming press conference, to be held on December 3rd from 1:30-2:30 PM, in the banquet room of the Rockville Inn, Fairfield, CA, Psi Applications president Steve Moreno, presenting along with members of his investigative team, will announce the results of a 5-month scientific study of three crop formations that appeared in Solano County within a one-week timeframe, bridging the end of June and early July of this year. The primary focus will center on the main Rockville formation, discovered June 28 in the field of farmer Larry Balestra. The results show anomalies in the crop formation that cannot be accounted for by the claim that four teenage boys hoaxed the circle on the moonless night of June 27.

Chief among the findings are statistically significant elongation of growth nodes in wheat samples taken from the crop circle (when compared with samples outside the circle), as well as subtle diatonic ratios appearing in the geometry of the formation. Crop circles have been appearing all over the world for the past 25 years and during that time scientific research has shown that many crop circles cannot be accounted for by hoaxing.

“For the past five months, our organization, in partnership with its scientific consultants, has been analyzing various aspects of three crop circle formations that appeared at the end of June and early July in Rockville and Vacaville, with very interesting results,” says Moreno. “Working with researchers across the US to conduct a battery of tests–including Dr. Charles Lietzau, Dr. Jean-Noel Aubrun, Jeffrey Wilson, Colin Andrews, BLT Research, and others–while conducting our own field research and interviews with witnesses, our most challenging finding concerns the main Rockville formation. We've concluded that it's highly unlikely that four teenage boys could have made the large, complex crop circle that appeared on June 28th in Larry Balestra's field. The scientific data and our ongoing investigation tend to point towards some other, perhaps anomalous, unknown source.”

Four facets of the research will be presented at the press conference, to be introduced by independent journalist Michael Miley:

  1. Elongation of Growth Nodes. With the assistance of Dr. Charles N. Lietzau, Psi Applications analyzed both wheat and grass samples taken from the two Rockville formations and compared them with samples taken outside of the circles. Presenting for Dr. Lietzau, Steve Moreno will explain how the comparison shows statistically significant elongation of the growth nodes of the samples taken from within the formations. The scientific analysis and methodology, dubbed the L-NEAT process by Dr. Lietzau (Levengood-Node Elongation Analysis Test), is based upon the peer-reviewed scientific crop circle research of biophysicist William C. Levengood of Pinelandia Laboratory, Grass Lake, Michigan–formerly of the BLT Research Team. What that research shows is that node elongation in formation samples is a decisive criterion by which to tell the difference between hoaxed and real crop circles. In experiments conducted over the years, only microwave energies have duplicated the effects shown in the growth nodes of formation samples (e.g., node elongation, expulsion cavities).

  • Diatonic Ratios. Dr. Jean-Noel Aubrun will present the results of his geometric analysis of the main Rockville crop formation. What that analysis shows is that subtle diatonic ratios are expressed in the crop formation, both in the size of the circles and their relations to one another. Neither coincidence, nor the presumed mathematical expertise of high school students, can account for this geometry.
  •
  • The Ball of Light. A taped interview with an eyewitness who reported seeing a ball of light (BOL) above the main formation late on June 27th will be shown. Over the years, many anomalous BOLs have been photographed and videotaped hovering over crop circles in the UK and elsewhere. Physicist Dr. Eltjo Haselhoff of the Netherlands has published a peer-reviewed scientific paper that supports the BOL-crop circle connection.
  •
  • The Other Two Formations and Discrepancies in the Hoax Story. Ruben Uriarte and Steve Moreno will wind up the presentation with other facets of the research on the other two formations that occurred in Solano County, including anomalous growths that continued in uprooted samples and missing mass from the Vacaville formation.  Analysis of discrepancies in the hoax story will also be offered.

  • After the formal presentation, the conference will open up to take questions from the press. The press conference will be videotaped and press packets will be given out. For more information on the upcoming press conference or the research, contact either Steve Moreno at  (707) 425-4382 or psiapp@sbcglobal.net; or Ruben Uriarte at (510) 489-3686 or rubenuriarte@sbcglobal.net.  Complete documentation of the Rockville crop circle research is available on the Psi Applications website at http://solanocircles.com.

Press Conference Date, Time, Location: December 3, 2003, 1:30-2:30PM, in the banquet room of the Rockville Inn, located at 4163 Suisun Valley Rd, Fairfield, CA, at the corner of Suisun Valley Rd and Rockville Rd.

Directions to the Press Conference: Take 80 north to the Suisun Valley Rd. exit. Turn left and go over the overpass. Continue down Suisun Valley Rd past Solano College on the right, up to the next intersection, which is Rockville Rd. Go through the intersection and the Rockville Inn sits on the left-hand corner.
